The GM Barracks bathroom is in poor condition and in its current state, is only accessible from outside. This results in the GM Information Centre Volunteers, who are the primary users of the GM Barracks, having to walk outside and negotiate a set of stairs in dark, cold and wet conditions to access the bathroom.
A suitably qualified builder with demonstrated relevant skills and experience in bathroom/kitchen renovations, whilst causing minimal environmental impact, will be engaged as follows:
In accordance with any relevant Australian standards and local council requirements - Demolish the existing bathroom within the Green Mountains Barracks.
In accordance with any relevant Australian standards and local council requirements – Install a new bathroom (involving materials to the value of $5000, GST exclusive) that is accessible via the Green Mountains Barracks kitchen. Certified and council approved plans, in accordance with any relevant Australian standards, to be provided by the builder who is awarded the contract to QPWS prior to commencing any works.
In accordance with any relevant Australian standards and local council requirements – Remodel the existing layout of the Green Mountains Barracks kitchen to accommodate access to the new bathroom. Install a new kitchen (involving materials to the value of $5000, GST exclusive) as required as a result of re-modelling the kitchen. Certified and council approved plans, in accordance with any relevant Australian standards, to be provided by the builder who is awarded the contract to QPWS prior to commencing any works.
The builder who is awarded the contract will be required to provide three (3) options of all bathroom and kitchen materials to QPWS for review and approval, prior to completing the works.
