View Contract Details

The contract is limited to the abandoned Rainbow Beach mineral sand mine located on the fringe of the Rainbow Beach township.  To support the ongoing rehabilitation of the site remaining asbestos material is to be collected and encapsulated in an on-site containment cell. The works required as part of this contract include the construction of an asbestos material Containment Cell in accordance with engineering design followed by subsequent emplacement and encapsulation of the remaining volumes of material potentially containing asbestos.  The spatial areas and volumes of asbestos remaining on site which are to be salvaged and encapsulated as part of this contract are provided in Appendix B.

Validation of the areas cleared of asbestos material will be conducted by another contractor and so is separate from this contract, however final clearance is an integral component for successful delivery of this work.
