Senior Project Officer on Temporary Role for Six Months. 

• Effectively consult and communicate with project stakeholders and deliver upon negotiated consultation outcomes.
• Interpret the results from monitoring activities and technical investigations/studies and incorporate results into proposed works for management consideration.
• Develop the technical specifications required to engage consultants and contractors in line with relevant department procurement processes.
• Consult with administrative, management, regional staff and other key stakeholders on project scope and development to build effective relationships and share expertise and knowledge.
• Prepare briefs, letters, reports, submissions and recommendations on complex issues in regards to abandoned mines including departmental and Ministerial requests and media releases as required.
• Undertake effective management of contract activities and assess the performance of the contracts against the performance and evaluation criteria.
• Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and be able to facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
• Assist in the implementation and review of the Site Safety Management System (SMS) in consultation with the Site Safety Manager.
• Supervise consultants and contractors whilst they are on site, ensuring they work in compliance with site SMS requirements.
• Interpret technical and other reports from a range of stakeholders and use them to guide project planning and risk management.
• Carry out audits and inspections of work areas to determine relevant health, safety and environmental risks.
• Other additional duties as required.
