Cairns Youth Sexual Violence Prevention Service (0180RR)
The department is providing new funding to establish new services responding to youth sexual violence in Cairns.
The new Youth Sexual Violence Prevention Service will operate in the context of an integrated approach to youth sexual violence in Cairns that includes counselling and case management support for children and young people affected by sexual violence, abuse, and those who may be exhibiting sexually reactive behaviours.
The service will undertake a multi-pronged approach to service delivery that comprises of the following –
• delivery of direct participation programs to children and young people aged from 12 years to build attitudes, knowledge and skills supporting equal, respectful and non-violent relationships;
• development of, and collaboration with, appropriate and relevant organisations to promote sexual safety and prevent sexual violence amongst children and young people, and build those organisations’ capacity to respond to sexual violence, including sexually reactive behaviours amongst children and young people; and
• development and implementation of communication and social marketing approaches targeting children and young people aged from 12 years. Request for Clarification Cut Off: 2:00pm Qld Time Tuesday 10 March 2020
