You will be required to develop and oversee project tasks to reduce public health, safety and environmental risks associated with selected abandoned mines within the North Burnett region, in Queensland. 

 

This will include the coordination and supervision of activities relating to the care and maintenance of the site, plus the advancement of planning for site remediation or repurposing. This will also include associated activities such as safety and risk management and generally assisting the project manager in progressing the project plan for the site.

 

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience within the mining industry and experience in the coordination and management of relevant activities and contractors. Practical knowledge, good personal communication and organisation skills and leadership capabilities are also important.

This is a site based role, located at the Former Goondicum Ilmenite mine Goondicum Road, Yarrol, Qld 4360. The site is approximately 38km east of Monto, QLD.

The default role is for a 36.25 hour week, worked between 6am and 6pm across Monday to Friday, however there is potential for flexible working arrangements and additional hours as agreed. There may be occasional need for weekend or after hours work.
