The Department of Environment and Science (DES) acting through Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P) plan to undertake targeted Crown of Thorns Starfish (COTS) surveillance at a select number of mid-shelf and offshore reef locations within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park between Townsville and Gladstone.
QPWS&P needs to charter a suitable live-aboard vessel, with crew, capable of accommodating up to eight (8) QPWS&P staff, with individual accommodation quarters to satisfy the current COVID-19 Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
