The Department of Environment and Science (Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P)) is seeking quotes for Lamington National Park Walking Track Restoration.
QPWS&P require the services of an experienced Contractor to complete the works which includes approximately 15 kilometres of walking track, along the Illinbah Circuit & Gwongoorool Track, within the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park (LNP) was subsequently damaged in the recent Sarabah wildfire. These tracks urgently need to be repaired in order to maintain their current walking track classification and re-open for visitor use.
The Contractor is required to repair/reconstruct the Illinbah Circuit and Gwongoorool Track as follows:
Remove all excess debris, soil and rocks from the track surfaces.
Repair/reconstruct all benching work along tracks.
Brush cut along both tracks, including one (1) metre from the edge of each track.
Repair/reconstruct all toe stones along tracks.
Widen and reshape sections of track (as indicated in Appendix A & B), including cutting into the existing bank where required to meet minimum 900mm track width.
Reconstruct existing rock walls and steps.
Construct new rock walls and steps.
All materials to be sourced on-site.
All works must adhere to any relevant Australian standards and local council requirements.
