Road Asset Valuation Information Technology Solution (TMRICT20092) that will:
Improve the accuracy and reliability of road asset valuations;
Populate the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) with road asset components (assets as defined for financial reporting purposes);
Provide sufficient level of detail in the FAR to support the traceability of road asset changes;
Automatically update the FAR, when changes occur in A Road Management Information System (ARMIS) (e.g. additions, disposals and transfers) that have a financial implication and Portfolio, Program, Project and Contract Management (3PCM);
Support the:
Annual valuation process to apply changes in unit rates to financially relevant asset components;
Monthly depreciation calculation;
Estimation of remaining useful life; and
Department’s investment strategies.
Implement appropriate change controls;
Mitigate current audit and valuation risks; and
Mitigate legacy system risks by migrating the current process into TMR supported future technology platforms.
