Fishery Independent Otter Trawl Survey
The Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) sought offers for the charter of Queensland commercial otter-board trawlers to undertake a fishery-independent survey of the abundance of saucer scallops on the state’s east coast. The saucer scallop fishery is currently classified as recruitment overfished and the survey results will be used for ongoing monitoring and assessment of the stock, and for managing the fishery.
