DESBCP038 - Tamborine NP Toilet Upgrades

Tamborine National Park has experienced increasing visitation in recent years putting pressure on the components of the Gough toilet systems in three sections of park (Cedar Creek, The Knoll and Witches Falls). The increase in visitation associated with COVID-19 (up to 40% increase) and an increase in inappropriate use of facilities has resulted in septic blockages, destruction of hand-pull mechanisms, decay and destruction of toilet fit-outs/closure mechanisms and increased calcium build up (Urinals, Cedar Ck). Upgrading the toilets at Cedar Creek, The Knoll and Witches Falls sections to Gough ‘micro-flush system’ with foot pumps (unless non-ambulant toilet) to reduce maintenance burden and likelihood of inappropriate use and vandalism. A suitably qualified contractor, with demonstrated relevant skills and experience will be engaged as follows:

Remove and dispose of old/worn components, supply and replace with new components of the following;

  • 5 x micro-flush pedestals with foot pump units (Cedar Ck DUA)
  • 1 x micro-flush pedestal with hand pump unit (Cedar Ck DUA)
  • 2 x waterless urinals (Cedar Ck DUA)
  • 2 x micro-flush foot pump units (Witches DUA)
  • 1 x hand pump unit (The Knoll DUA)
  • All works to adhere to any relevant Australian standards and local council requirements.
