Replacement Fast Response Energy Storage, Sir Samuel Griffith N78, Nathan campus
Griffith University is seeking Proposals for Replacement Fast Response Energy Storage in Sir Samuel Griffith (N78) building.
The Sir Samuel Griffith Building was completed in 2013. It is a mixed-use building with a large lecture theatre, seminar rooms of various sizes, student collaboration zone and offices for Science researchers. It was rated as a 6 star greenstar building and includes solar panels on the roof and façade, battery storage and a demonstration hydrogen fuel cell and metal hydride storage system. Following a thermal event in March 2020, the battery system requires replacement. The batteries provided the fast response energy storage system with the hydrogen system acting as the long-term storage system.
