P&A Design, Reporting and Professional Engineering Services
The Department of Resources (DoR) currently maintains the ex-Linc Energy Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) research and development facility, referred to as ‘the Hopeland Site’, approximately 30km southeast of Chinchilla. The site includes a number of wells associated with these activities. DoR has engaged geophysics services to undertake an investigation of this infrastructure. Interpretation reports will be available to inform Plug and Abandonment (P&A) design. DoR now seeks to engage a supplier with capacity to develop P&A designs for each well to be utilised for P&A execution.DoR requires the Supplier to develop a detailed P&A design and technical specification for each of the selected wells (below). The design must meet legislative requirements (Code of Practice For the construction and abandonment of petroleum wells and associated bores in Queensland) and adopt good industry practice, as well as identify and address any assumptions (as per Schedule 1, clause 2.1. a. of the contract). The supplier is to provide sign-off on the designs as an RPEQ.
