The Department of Education (DoE) seeks to establish a Design and Construct Contractor to facilitate upgrades to the school comprising of the following;
Scope of Works
The tenderer is responsible for reviewing and developing the project objectives into a functional scope of works for review and assessment by the tender evaluation team. Following award of the contract, the tenderer will be responsible for the design and obtaining the necessary approvals. The tenderer will then be required to construct the approved works, allowing for any secondary to facilitate the project scope and any make good works.
Project Objectives
- Work Package 1 – Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) Structure
- Construction of a COLA structure with no/minimal internal columns;
- COLA structure to be fabricated in steel with Colorbond roofing.
- The COLA envelope is to align with the adjacent walkway structures and feed into existing drainage system.
- Work Package 2 – Shade House and Shed
- The existing cricket nets are to be demolished;
- The existing cricket pitch slabs are to remain with a road base or similar hardstand to be constructed around their perimeter;
- Construction of a shade house with a steel frame structure;
- Installation of steel shelving to the external perimeter of the shade house;
- Installation of a central row of steel shelving to shade house;
- Construction of a 2x2m (approx.) slab adjacent to the shade house;
- Tenderer to allow for slab thickness to support a steel shed including contents (ride on mower etc..)
- Dimensions of slab to accommodate for 2x2m steel shed.
- Installation of a 2x2m steel shed to the slab.
- Shed provided by school.
- Works Package 3 – Artificial Turf Works
- Removal of existing turf in area adjacent to COLA structure and installation of artificial turf.
- Artificial turf to have suitable base and drainage requirements installed;
- Artificial turf to be of a commercial grade; and
- Artificial turf to be trafficable by landscaping equipment (ride on mower traversing over for access).
Tender submissions will be accepted from contractors with a valid QBCC Builder's Licence to undertake the entire scope of works, and demonstrate that they can meet all Tender Conditions.
