Mackay Regional Council is seeking to undertake extensive cleaning of our Gross Pollutant Traps in Mackay and various surrounding suburbs (55 In-Ground Traps and 261 Gully Pit Basket Traps).
Gross Pollutant Traps (GPT’s) form a vital link in a chain of treatment processes aimed at improving the water quality for our environment. GPT’s are a primary treatment device and their role is to remove significant amounts of visible pollutants, oils and course sediments, whose definition varies dependant on the specifying authority.
