INVITATION TO SUBMIT A TENDER
The L04 building has been transitioned into an Allied Health Centre, with the remaining spaces being repurposed to transition to aligned use. This component of the transition will create an Administrative Hot Desk/Admin overflow space for the accommodation of Staff and Students of various entities. As such, the contractor is to pay particular attention to the running of data to 2 x separate, yet adjacent Comms Rooms within the L04 Building.

Loose Furniture forms a considerable component of the project layout with extended lead times. As such, Loose furniture items have been ordered in advance by the Principle, with the Tenderers to allow for coordination, receiving and installation of the deliveries. Details of orders will be provided, which will include Office Screens which accommodate internal cabling of Electrical and Data, Desks and Office Chairs.

There is an urgent requirement to complete this space. Therefore, Tenderers shall note Price has a significant evaluation weighting as set out below.

Scope Coordination Requirements:

  • Contractor and Electrical Engineer to coordinate with workstation supplier re. cut-outs etc.
  • Please ensure and register notifiable work (Form 4/4A) is allowed for change of existing sink.
  • Joinery Shop Drawings need to be submitted for approval prior to manufacturing.
  • Ensure all Engineers documents are understood, including;
  • o ‘Mechanical Specification Document 1.6 Miscellaneous’.

Optional Project Works:
Tenderers shall price the following project scope options. The acceptance of these options is subject to funding availability.

  • Option A Supply and installation of new Schneider multi-purpose controller within dedicated enclosure. Rewire existing field devices associated with Room 1.10 to the new multi-purpose controller.
  • Option B Supply and installation of new kitchenette joinery, tapware/sink and Zip Unit. Upon completion the contractor must submit evidence and approval to the University a Form 4/4A (Notifiable Work) has been obtained.

The Contract is a Lump Sum Fixed Price not subject to adjustment for rise and fall in costs.

  • Tenders shall remain valid for 15 business days.
  • The tenders will not be opened publicly.
  • Tenders will be evaluated in accordance the following Criteria and weightings to be addressed in the Tender submission;
    Evaluation Criteria
  • Construction program (30%) – The program schedule has been weighted appropriately with consideration to the User requiring urgent accommodation of the space. Please provide a Program Schedule as part of the submission.
  • Contractor’s key resources (10%) – Provide names and qualifications of proposed site management and support staff together with details of any previous experience in working on a University campus. GU reserves the right to reject any nominated person and request an alternative nomination.
  • Construction Methodology (10%) – This space forms part of a Medical Centre currently operating Monday to Friday and sits within a Griffith Campus. As such, any noisy works will require out of hours operation. Tenderers to ensure this is considered within their Program Schedule.
  • Price (50%) – Tenderers must complete the Form of Tender – Appendix 1 and submit as per of the return tender package.
