Invitation to Submit Tender- Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (GRIDD) (N27 & N75) (Fire Doors), Nathan campus

You are invited to submit a Tender for the execution and completion of the works described below in accordance with the Drawings and Specification (if any) supplied herewith, the Griffith University Conditions of Tender & Conditions of Contract for ‘Minor Works’ herein, and any other information issued by the Principal for the purposes of tendering.

Description of Works:

The scope of works shall include but not be limited to, as referenced by the attached plans:

  • Replace existing Fire Doors with new including certification:

five double door sets,

four leaf and a half door sets and;

three single door sets:

  • New Door furniture & hardware as per existing and,
  • New leafs
  • New frames (this shall be assessed during the site visit, an addendum shall be issued as required)
  • New closers and Door Seals.
  • Preparation, make good and paint match existing doors, frames including top and bottom of doors and any damage.
  • Any make good to associated walls and ceilings required due or because of the works.
  • Air-tight zip walls (or approved equal) used for all doors on Level 2 to ensure no dust migration to the Laboratories.
  • Works required to achieve FRL -/120/30 certification (match existing) to the satisfaction of GU Building Certifier or Superintendent Representative, this shall include all certificates, product data, detailed register and the like
  • Asset Management Database update using the supplied excel spreadsheet
  • Photographic evidence of before and after of each door on both sides shall be collated into a dilapidation report.

Assume reuse the existing Masterkeying cylinders. If as a result of the site investigations, Masterkeying or other conditions are not suitable to be maintained, this is to be optionally priced. All service isolation, floor and wall protection and alignment to GU Preliminaries are assumed to be included. The intent is that this is a complete submission and no additional or ancillary trades are required to complete the scope of works, listed. The scope of works is to be completed as a whole.

  • The Contract is a Lump Sum Fixed Price not subject to adjustment for rise and fall in costs.
  • Tenders shall remain valid for 30 calendar days.
  • The tenders will not be opened publicly.
  • Tenders will be evaluated in accordance with the following Criteria and weightings, and tenderers are required to address these criteria in their tender submission;
  • Construction programme - list dates and lead times for manufacture and installation
  • Construction Methodology – how your team will interact with users and mitigate the risk to the live laboratory operations, include reference to use of zip walls, GU Preliminaries and service isolations relevant to live operations   
  • Price Submission – Signed 01 Minor Works Contract Ed.4, Signed 02 Form of Tender Appendix 1 & Signed Document Transmittal
