INVITATION TO SUBMIT A TENDER

You are invited to submit a Tender for the execution and completion of the works described below in accordance with the Drawings and Specification (if any) supplied herewith, the Griffith University Conditions of Tender & Conditions of Contract for ‘Minor Works’ herein, and any other information issued by the Principal for the purposes of tendering.

Description of Works:

The scope of works for the GRIDD 1 – Fire Door Works project includes (but not limited to):

  1. Mandatory (Option 01):
  • replace the doors and frames of the pyrokor doors located in the Western Fire Door Exit including certification to achieve a fire rating level (FRL) equal to -/120/30 and AS1905.1-2015 as per the Building Certifiers markup (green tick), and the Form of Tender Appendix 1 Rev 2 both attached;
  • This shall include new hardware, door seals, vision panels (if possible), relevant (fire) signage to GU Signage Manual 4.1 (refer website), strike plates, kickplates both sides (100mm h) to match the existing.
  • External door leafs shall additionally incorporate a metal sheet surface with steel cover strip similar to 2.17 external door and maintain mag lock operational install where existing.
  • Masterkeyed cylinders shall be reused, where appropriate. Where no metal sheet finish, doors shall be painted.
  • Only Laboratory signage shall be replaced by Griffith University.
  1. Optional (Option 02):
  • removal of all fire door signage, tags and labels on the existing (laboratory) doors including the ‘make good’ to the doors and frames, charcoal colour to match those recently installed in 2018, as shown by the Building Certifiers markup (red cross) and the Form of Tender Appendix 1 Rev 2, both attached.
  • The luminosity contrast required between leaf, frame and wall by relevant references in the National Construction Code (NCC) shall be achieved.
  • If door seals, hardware or other is required based on the inspection of the doors this shall be included.

  • The Contract is a Lump Sum Fixed Price not subject to adjustment for rise and fall in costs.
  • Tenders shall remain valid for 30 calendar days.
  • The tenders will not be opened publicly.
  • Tenders will be evaluated in accordance with the following Criteria and weightings, and tenderers are required to address these criteria in their tender submission;
  • Construction programme - list dates and lead times for manufacture and installation
  • Construction Methodology – how your team will interact with users and mitigate the risk to the live laboratory operations, include reference to use of zip walls, GU Preliminaries and service isolations relevant to live operations   
  • Price Submission – Signed 01 Minor Works Contract Ed.4, Signed 02 Form of Tender Appendix 1 & Signed Document Transmittal
