The University of Queensland (UQ) seeks offers for the supply animal feed per the following requirements:
The Gatton campus use around 215 tonnes per month of animal feed, following is a description of usage:
2.1 PIGGERY
380 sows in a multi-site production unit.
Most growers from 8 weeks of age are grown at two grow-out sites as follows: 1) up to 1800 growers at 31 Silverleaf Rd, Murgon, Qld 4605, and 2) up to 220 growers Gatton.
Usage approximately 180 tonnes/month.
2.2 BEEF CATTLE
Beef cattle at research feedlot and dairy at different times.
Usage variable 2-15 tonnes/month
2.3 DAIRY
Calves and growing heifers are fed externally supplied pellets or mash. Usage approximately 15 tonnes per month
The dairy rations are made on farm and fed through TMR.
2.4 POULTRY LAYERS
Layer Mash 18% as required from time to time, usually around 1-2 tonnes per month.
2.5 TRIAL DIETS
Specifications and price are negotiated as required.
