JCU welcome you to stage 2 of the procurement process for our partner in the construction of the James Cook University (JCU) and Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) propose to develop facilities in the Far North Queensland Health and Innovation Precinct (the Precinct) located in Cairns North.
All correspondence is to be via QTenders using the "ask a question" mechanism which will come directly to JCU's Category Manager or via the open "online forum". JCU will ensure all tenderers recieve the same information at the same time ensuring promt and fair distribution of all information.
Project Brief:
JCU has entered a funding agreement with the Federal Government for $60M to acquire land and deliver the proposed Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre (CTEC). CHHHS have received government funding of $1.5 million to advance their business case to support development of the Cairns Health and Innovation Centre (CHIC). The Precinct is proposed to be developed in stages, taking advantage of potential future funding opportunities over a 10- 15-year period.
CTEC planning and design is based on a 4 story, approximate 3500m² class 5 and 9b building, connected to third party services infrastructure (Council Ergon etc). A LEED Gold or equivalent sustainability rating is desirable. An Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) will be engaged by JCU.
Note: Appendix 1 - CTEC Works Packages Respondents has been sent separately via Cloud Store.
CTEC will be a specialised facility for teaching, research education and research activity in: Medicine, Allied Health, Generalist Medical Training (GMT), Stem related courses, Health Training and Research and Indigenous Education & Research Centre presence in the first instance.
