The State of Queensland acting through the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning on behalf of Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) requires a suitably qualified contractor for the demolition, remediation, and associated works to be undertaken at 60 MacArthur Avenue, Northshore Hamilton.

BACKGROUND - The warehouse building has been identified as being in poor condition. The building is intended to be demolished to enable interim use of the site as hardstand storage area.

The works covered by this contract includes, but is not limited to the supply of material, plant, labour and supervision necessary to carry out the following:

  • Preparation of a Hazardous Substances Management Plan by a suitably qualified and licenced professional;
  • Remediation and removal of contaminated building materials;
  • Removal of redundant infrastructure including demolition of existing buildings, pavements and services;
  • Removal and disposal of contaminated ground stockpiles;
  • Disposal of all demolished and/or remediated materials to approved facilities;
  • Repair works to existing pavements;
  • Stormwater drainage;
  • Pavement overlay of carpark;
  • Line marking and signage;
  • Fencing;
  • Sediment and erosion control;
  • Associated works required to complete the Contract in accordance with the drawings, relevant reports and the specification.

The proposed demolition and remediation works are to be completed as one contract.

MADATORY SITE BRIEFING - A mandatory site briefing/inspection will be held at 60 MacArthur Avenue, HamiltonWednesday, 18th of August 2021, at 2:00pm - For further information please refer to Part1 - AS2124 - Invitation to Offer and Schedule A, Item 1.2 Site Visit / Industry Briefing (Mandatory)

COVID 19 COMPLIANCE - Due to current COVID 19 restrictions Tenderers are to note that a maximum of two people are permitted at the site visit per Supplier. The Customer has adopted the following precautions with regard to COVID-19 for the site inspection.

  • All participants at the site visit must be familiar with and comply with Queensland Government COVID-19 advices: https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/protect-yourself-others/coronavirus-prevention
  • Entry to the site will be staggered to maximise distancing if necessary.
  • Suppliers are required to bring their own PPE equipment including mask and hand sanitiser
