The Media Capture Project is focused on implementing media capture system that enables staff and students to create, manipulate, store, manage and publish video and audio resources (with endorsed JCU branding) to a variety of platforms including the Learning Management Solution, corporate webpages and YouTube channels.

The solution will allow for automated recording of lectures as well as at-your-desk creation of high quality content and will be available for staff and student use.
The student experience will be enhanced by reducing the turnaround times, providing the capacity to record from any computer or mobile device, interactive tools including polling and quizzes that promote active learning, and the capacity to bookmark sections of the recording, annotate with notes or search on keywords.

The current video capture system at JCU is inadequate for current and future needs. The current bespoke system that supports the eLecture solution is designed around Cisco Telepresence content servers that are now past end-of-life (June, 2013).
The purchase of a new video capture system is the object of this procurement activity.
