Section 1

Tender Overview

The Queensland Government is committed to improving its procurement approach and becoming a better customer. By being a better customer the Government can ensure its procurement activities deliver improved outcomes – not just financial savings, but economic, social and environmental benefits too.

Each year the government spends more than 16 billion dollars on procurement from over 34,000 suppliers on a wide range of goods and services everything from building and maintaining hospitals to buying paper and school supplies or delivering services to our most vulnerable Queenslanders.

The General Goods and Services (GG&S) team works collaboratively with industry, business and government departments to optimise this expenditure through innovative forward planning and smarter practices.

A recent review of Queensland Government Procurement showed that we needed to take a more coordinated approach to industry engagement and make it easier for industry to do business with government.

Providing our suppliers with the tools needed for efficient, value-for-money procurement is one of the ways in which we can meet the needs of our stakeholders.

This Forward Procurement Pipeline is one of those invaluable tools. It provides industry with early visibility of proposed GG&S procurement activities for the next 12 months and is updated quarterly, as those opportunities are progressed.

When the formal tender process commences, all offers will be received electronically via the QTenders website.
