We are committed to improving our procurement approach and becoming a better customer by ensuring our procurement activities deliver improved outcomes that include economic, social and environmental benefits.

Each year, Queensland government departments spend more than $16bn on procurement from over 34,000 suppliers on a wide range of goods and services that include everything from building and maintaining hospitals to buying paper and school supplies or delivering services to our most vulnerable Queenslanders.

The Building Construction and Maintenance (BCM) Category Team within the Department of Housing and Public Works work collaboratively with industry, business and government departments to optimise this expenditure through innovative forward planning and smarter procurement practices.

Providing our suppliers with the tools needed for efficient, value-for-money procurement is one of the ways in which we can meet the needs of our stakeholders.

To find out about upcoming procurement activities, you can check our information on opportunities for suppliers and the Online Project Search.
