JCU's Marine and Aquaculture Facility (MARF) is seeking to deliver new research capability by the addition of a new Aquashed and Quarantine Facility. The facility is proposed to house large scale commercially relevant fish research projects.

Project set-up involves clusters of tanks serviced by a supply of treated water and air, individual power, data and lighting installations. Water from the tanks is circulated by draining to in-ground sumps and pumped back through a treatment plant known as the Life Support System (LSS) and then back to the tanks.
