Section 1

Tender Overview

Regular asset inspections of the existing ballast, steel sleeper and track geometries conditions throughout the Mt Isa Line have identified and prioritised areas that are in a deteriorating condition. Evidence of heavy ballast fouling, which is instigating failing track geometries and poor ballast profile, and steel sleeper corrosion, cracking and/or breaking under the rail seat have instigated the required remediation/upgrade program.

Queensland Rail’s Capital Works Program for the Mt Isa resurfacing is an ongoing program over a three (3) year period, concluding 2023.

This tender aims to establish a contract with a suitably qualified and capable contractor to deliver the three (3) year program of work, in its entirety, along the Mt Isa mainline under the supervision of Queensland Rail, ensuring high quality Service and achieved project deadlines.

For this Tender (QRP-20-05), the following documents have been uploaded into QTenders for all QTenders registered companies to download:

  1. Preamble
  2. Conditions of Tendering
  3. Statement of Work

From there the Tenderer will need to determine if they would like to proceed to a Tender response.

In order to submit a Tender response, Tenderers will have to register to the SAP Ariba eSourcing system by sending an email to the Contact Officer.

If the Tenderer elects to submit a Tender response, they must do so by using Queensland Rail’s online tendering tool (SAP Ariba eSourcing). All Tender responses will be required to be submitted through the eSourcing system not the QTender website. Responses submitted through QTenders may be deemed as non-conforming.
