Section 1

Tender Overview

The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals  from suitably qualified contactors for the supply, delivery, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the Solomon Dam Raw Water Pipeline Upgrade.

The scope of works for the project includes, but is not limited to: 
1. Supply, delivery, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of approximately 420m of DN300 DICL PN20 raw water pipeline connecting Solomon Dam to the Water Treatment Plant Inlet Shed including new valves and fittings installation in the existing scour pit;

2. Supply and installation of temporary OD250 PE100 SDR21 PN8 above ground raw water feed pipework between the Francis Creek raw water main and the WTP including flow restriction, flow measurement devices and static chemical mixing connections (as currently installed in the WTP inlet shed);

3. Measure, design, fabricate, supply and install new lockable aluminium hinged access cover for the scour pit. Weight of each cover must not exceed 20kg when lifting for opening or lowering for closing.

4. Supply and installation of all new above ground pipework in the WTP inlet shed including flow restriction, flow measurement devices and static chemical mixing instrumentation;

5. Replacement of the existing pipework from the WTP inlet shed to the treatment plant flocculation tank with approximately 45m of DN300 DICL PN20. The connection to the flocculation tank will be outside of the WTP shed to an OD160 PE100 pipe;

6. Supply of construction equipment, cranage, tools and gear to complete the works;

7. All civil earthworks, structural and concrete works;

8. Electrical, instrumentation and controls installation within the WTP Inlet Shed;

9. Commissioning of new pipework and equipment within the WTP Inlet Shed; and

10. “As-constructed” drawings and operating manuals.

Demolition of Existing Assets
The contractor shall be responsible for the demolition of the existing assets summarised below and detailed in Section 4 of this specification.
• Remove and dispose of all decommissioned pipework in the WTP inlet shed, and
• Remove and dispose of redundant pipelines and fittings as outlined in the detailed design drawings.
