Tenders are invited for the resurfacing of the 50m pool at the Kawana Aquatic Centre, located on Sportsman Parade Birtinya.
Works include, but are not limited to:
- Preliminary site set-up;
- Emptying the pool;
- Demolition of exisiting tiling and surface preparation;
- Repair and / installation of new equipotential bonding, including testing;
- Retiling, grouting, and joint sealing;
- Remedial works to pool decking;
- Refilling of pool; and
- Site clean-up.
The successful contractor must provide all labour, plant, equipment, tiles, and other materials, as well as perform all necessary operations to ensure proper completion of the works.
This is a lump sum contract. The works have been programmed to commence immediately following award of the contract, due to the current extra ordinary aquatic centre closure, with practical completion required by 19 June 2020, allowing for an eight week construction period.
The pool is to be emptied and remain non-operational during the resurfacing period. The filtration unit for the pool is also being replaced during this time, and the successful contractor will be required to liaise with the Contractor for those works.
