Section 1

Tender Overview

The Registration of Interest (ROI) process constitutes the first stage of a two-stage procurement process.

Submissions are invited by Powerlink Queensland for a Registration of Interest (“ROI”) for the supply of replacement Dense Wavelength Multiplexing (DWDM) equipment for the purpose of optimising the performance of Powerlink’s telecommunications network.

DWDM equipment has been installed in the Powerlink network since circa 2008, providing high capacity core connectivity.  Powerlink is now engaging the market to identify potential advanced DWDM technologies to replace the existing DWDM platform.

Powerlink’s objective is to replace the current DWDM system with a modern equivalent telecommunication network, that is capable of ensuring Powerlink’s future capacity requirements can be met, and that additional network elements can be included without significant rework.
