Section 1

Tender Overview

DNRME is seeking the services of an experienced drilling company to undertake push-tube drilling of a tailings stockpile at a former mineral sand mining and processing site in Rainbow Beach, Qld. The requested service also includes the collection and delivery of samples to a designated laboratory for further analysis.  The analysis will be conducted via laboratory services contracted by DNRME.

The site is located at Rainbow Beach off Clarkson Road, see Appendix 1, Figure 1.  The site is a former mineral sand processing area and covers Lot 4AP17591, Lot 18 on MPH40650, Lot 3 on AP17591, Lot 5 on AP23083, Lot 23 on AP1574 and Lot 6 on AP23083.  Lots 3 and Lot 5 are listed on the Environmental Management Register due to contamination in the form of concentrated mineral sands following mining activity.  Lots 3 and 5 are the lots where the listed services will be undertaken.

The purpose of the drilling program is for DNRME to validate the results of the previous drilling program and undertake an estimation of the volume and grade of the ilmenite stockpile. Please see attached scope and requirements for details.
