Tender Overview

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) invites offers for the provision of goods and services for Research into Lighting Best Practice for Public Transport Premises, Infrastructure and Conveyances.

TMR has partnered with the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities, Regional Development and Communication to review and modernise the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Cth) (the Transport Standards).

To inform the development of possible new standards and best-practice guidance material, TMR is seeking a vendor to undertake desktop research regarding the design of lighting within public transport premises, infrastructure and conveyances contexts.

This research will centre around the impact of lighting design and technology on people with disability, with a particular focus on safety and functionality.

The vendor will be required to review and analyse existing research applicable to the use of lighting within public transport premises, infrastructure and conveyances, and provide recommendations regarding best-practice design requirements in relation to all disabilities.

For detailed information on the specific goods / services sought under this tender, please review the tender documents attached.
