Section 1

Tender Overview

Tenders are invited for green waste processing to produce mulch at a number of Council operated waste facilities (Resource Recovery Centres and Transfer Stations) and Council depots.

Green waste is received at Council’s waste facilities from self-haul domestic customers, self-haul commercial customers, and from Council’s garden waste kerbside bin collection service.  Council processes green waste at three (3) major sites and four (4) minor sites, and currently produces approximately 70,000 cubic metres of mulch per annum. Typically 80% of this is green waste received and processed at the three (3) major sites.

Council depots receive green waste resulting from Council’s Parks & Gardens internal operations, and there is no disposal from the public. Council processes green waste and currently produces approximately 6,000 cubic metres of mulch per annum at these sites.

The successful contractor will be required to perform green waste processing at all nominated sites on a scheduled basis.

This is a schedule of rates contract for a term of two (2) years, with two (2) extension options of up to 12 months.

An information session will be held on 29 January 2021.
