Section 1

Tender Overview

Queensland Rail has five (5) steel bridges along the NNCL that require re-painting, listed in order of priority, as follows:

  • Separable Portion (SP) 1 - Murray's Creek Bridge
  • Optional SP 2 - Burnett River Bridge
  • Optional SP 3 - Mary River Bridge
  • Optional SP 4 - Kolan River Bridge
  • Optional SP 5 - Boyne River Bridge

Please note, Queensland Rail currently has funding for the first bridge only however intend to include bridges 2 - 5 as optional separable portions to be activated once funding becomes available. Further information will be provided within the tender documents.

The Scope of Work for SP1 Murray's Creek Bridge includes the cleaning and repaininting of 1 x 27.130m truss span on Mass Contrete Piers and replaceing of 12 rivets with Huck Bolts. Each bridge will require a similar scope of work delivered on different scales.

This tender aims to establish a Major Works Contract with a suitably capable, qualified and experienced Contractor for the Bridge Painting Works, ensuring high quality work, achieved deadlines and value for money.

A mandatory site inspection will be held on Wednesday, 14 July 2021 at 8:00AM in Bundaberg. Refer to attached Section A - Preamble, Item 5. Site Inspection for specific details.

  3. Tenderers are encouraged to carefully read all documentation available for download in the Ariba Sourcing system to ensure the tender submitted meets all Queensland Rail’s requirements
