Section 1

Tender Overview

UQ’s Centre for Geoanalytical Mass Spectrometry (CGMS) in School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) is seeking Offers for the Supply of:

  • Item 1: 1 x High Resolution (Sector Field) Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (HR-ICPMS); and
  • Item 2: 1 x Ion Chromatography system (to be coupled with both a new HR-ICPMS and existing quadrupole ICPMS currently operating in the laboratory). Please refer to section 1.4 of the ITO for further information.

This procurement activity will allow suppliers to provide offer(s) for:

  • Item 1; or
  • Item 2; or
  • Both Item 1 and Item 2.

UQ has issued this ITO in order to achieve the following objectives and benefits:

  • Enable the following capabilities:
    • high-precision analysis or high-spatial-resolution mapping of elements/isotopes in diverse materials;
    • precise measurements of different elemental species with contrasting chemical properties, bioavailability or toxicity;
    • rapid high-precision analysis of non-traditional isotopes for environmental and biomedical monitoring/labelling; and
    • combined isotope dating and tracing for resource exploration and archaeology.
  • Enable higher throughput and wider application potential to continue and expand our world-leading research capabilities.
  • Facilitate increased collaboration with industry, universities, research centres and institutions.
