Tender Overview

Redland City Council is seeking Tenders for a main/head contractor for the renewal of bus shelters and upgrades of boarding points at one hundred and twelve (112) locations across Redland City packaged into the following three (3) separable portions:

  • Stage 2: Thirteen (13) locations – TMR Sites and Shelters (Site numbers 12 to 24)

  • Stage 1: Twenty Six (26) locations - Redland City North Boarding Points (Site numbers 25 to 50)
  • Stage 2: Nineteen (19) locations - Redland City North Boarding Points (Site numbers 51 to 69)

  • Stage 1: Twenty (20) locations - Redland City South Boarding Points (Site numbers 70 to 89)
  • Stage 2: Twenty Three (23) locations - Redland City South Boarding Points (Site numbers 90 to 112)

The work to be performed under this Contract comprises of the provision of all materials, plant/equipment, labour and the performance of all operations necessary for the supply/delivery, installation/ construction, supervision and certification for the proposed works/services, which include but are not limited to:

  • Provision of management plans (including Work Health and Safety, Traffic and Environmental) and implementation thereof;
  • Lodgement of Traffic Control Plan (including Traffic Guidance Schemes) for approval with RCC and Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) (DTMR – part of SP1 only);
  • Notification to local residents before commencement of works;
  • Identifying, locating and protecting existing public utility plant/services during works;
  • Removal of bus shelter advertising panels prior to disposal, safely retained and securely stored by the Contractor during construction, and reinstalled upon completion of the new bus shelter (part of SP1 only);
  • Removal of existing shelter, seat, bins and signage for disposal to an approved recycle facility;
  • Removal of concrete slab to a registered waste transfer station;
  • Construction of reinforced concrete hardstands and footpaths;
  • Supply and installation of Translink Approved Bus Shelters, furniture and other miscellaneous items in accordance with the design documentation;
  • Supply and installation of electrical works including Energex application & approval (or Solar Panel system installation if specified);
  • Supply and installation of Tactile Ground Surface Indicators;
  • Supply, installation and maintenance of turf;
  • Supply and installation of gutter mesh to shelter; and
  • Final ‘As Constructed’ (ADAC) drawings for the whole of works and associated documentation.

Notes:

  1. PDG-80010-10 (all SP’s) must be completed prior to Wednesday 31 March 2022.
  2. The contractor awarded SP1 (that includes works to be performed on the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) road network must be DTMR prequalified. Any work performed on the DTMR network must be delivered in accordance with DTMR standards and applicable local requirements.
  3. Sites within a School Zone must be completed during school holiday periods.
  4. It is preferable that all onsite works for each stage is complete and the preparation of Practical Completion documentation commenced before starting the next stage.
