Section 1

Tender Overview

The Department of Education (DoE) is calling for tender submissions for the design and construction of the existing
Administration building at Kawungan State School, located at Grevillea Street, Hervey Bay, QLD 4655, as part of the Renewal
Program.


The Administration building is one level and contains the Principal’s, Deputies’ and Business Manager’s office, administration
area and foyers, sick bay and amenities. The refurbishment will retain these spaces and further include a new guidance office,
meeting room, tea area internally and new concrete pathway and entry sign externally. The position of the building is at the front
of the school with limited site access and working space. All works are to be completed by January 2022.


Tender submissions will be accepted from contractors that meet the following requirements:
• Appropriate QBCC Builders licences to undertake the entire scope of works
• Professional Indemnity Insurance to the value of $ 1 Million


QBCC Licensing and Professional Indemnity Insurance
It is anticipated that a minimum of a QBCC (Low Rise) builders’ licence will be required for this project. Contractors are
required to hold Professional Indemnity Insurance in accordance with the contract.
