Section 1

Tender Overview

The Department of Health in collaboration with the Hospital and Health Services, the Department of Energy and Public Works, Queensland Building and Construction Commission and the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning is hosting an industry forum covering topics related to the Health infrastructure and capital works program. The event is aimed at head building contractors and consultants located in the southern region of Queensland.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

  • Keynote Address - Keola Westcott, Executive Director, Capital and Asset Services Branch, Queensland Health
  • Building Policy Reform and Best Practice Principles - Logan Timms, Executive Director, Major Projects Strategy Building Division, Department of Energy and Public Works
  • Power generation on hospital sites - Rodney Lobwein - Major Customer Project Sponsor and Aidan Roberts, Manager Network Connections, Energy Queensland
  • Overview of anticipated projects for Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service - Richard Christensen, Senior Director Partnership and Strategic Development, Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service
  • Sustainable design requirements to reach net zero for new and refurbished health facilities in Metro North - David Walker, Herston Quarter Development Director, Director of Sustainability, Metro North Hospital and Health Service
  • Overview of anticipated projects for Metro North Hospital and Health Service - Kate Copeland, Executive Director, Assets and Infrastructure, Metro North Hospital and Health Service
  • New Trust Account Framework - Omar Ameer, Director Financial Compliance, Queensland Building and Construction Commission
  • Ethical Supplier Mandate and Threshold - Chris Perkins, Executive Director, Procurement Compliance Branch, Department of Energy and Public Works
  • Queensland Government’s infrastructure pipeline - Sophie Turner, Director - Infrastructure Planning & Advisory, Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning

Representatives from the Department of Health, the Hospital and Health Services, the Department of Energy and Public Works, Queensland Building and Construction Commission and the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning will give presentations on the above topics.

The Forum is being held on Thursday 18 November 2021 from 10.30am to 5pm in the auditorium of 111 George Street Brisbane, Queensland, 4000. With lunch and afternoon tea provided.

 

Please note that there is a limited ticket allocation for this forum. It is therefore recommended that you RSVP as soon as possible prior to the event. If the ticket allocation is exhausted the forum can be accessed via livestream as noted above.

 

Please arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes prior to the event start time to allow for your attendance to be registered prior to entrance.

 

For those who are unable to attend, the event will be livestreamed and recorded.  The livestream event will be  accessible via this link; a recording of the event will be available approximately one hour after the conclusion of the forum and will be available via the same link. Questions can be asked either in person at the Forum or online via the livestreaming site. It is recommended that people register for the livestream prior to commencement using the link provided above.
