1. The Public Safety Agencies (PSAs) including Queensland Police Services, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance Service have previously trialled and implemented an in-vehicle satellite/LTE communications system with least cost routing and Push To Talk (PTT) functionality for remote area communications as a cost-effective solution to expansion of Land Mobile Radio Networks.Following the success of the in-vehicle communications system the QPS is seeking an enhanced solution of the current configuration as a standard solution for future installation and upgrading of operational PSA vehicle systems. 2. A reliable cost-effective communications solution for regional Queensland that includes officer duress and location capability as an alternative solution to replacing or expanding the aging PSA analogue terrestrial radio networks. Ability for extended vehicle communications, utilising UHF P25 portable radios, to allow the officer to roam away from the vehicle.
