PN0719 - Wharf 10 - Installation of New Fenders to Berthing Dolphins
Ports North (PN) is responsible for the development and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and regional centres in Far North Queensland. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports. PN owns and maintains Wharf 10, located in the Cairns Seaport. Wharf 10 specifically caters for the importation of bulk liquids including petroleum fuels and LPG. The wharf is a vital component of infrastructure in the PN asset portfolio.
The Wharf 10 facility includes two berthing dolphins, each of which has two cell fenders with associated fender components including backing plates, wearing strips and support piles. The existing cell fenders and fender components are at end of life and are in need of replacement.
PN has procured four new SCN1600 cell fenders for the replacement project. These materials will be made available to the successful Contractor at no cost (Principal Supplied Materials).
The scope of works included in this tender is for:
- The supply of fender components including but not limited to: fender mounting plates (4 plates), fender support piles (4 x 310UC piles), fender wearing strips and all other necessary materials to complete the fender system replacement to the two dolphins
- The removal and disposal of the existing fender systems
- The complete installation of the new fender system, including the driving of 4 new fender support piles.
The wharf is an operational wharf and construction methodology and programming around vessel operations will be critical to the successful delivery of the works.
PN requests Tender Submissions from suitably qualified Marine Contractors with appropriate experience in the installation of wharf fender systems. Works are to be performed on an operational wharf and and delivery of the works will be affected by tidal movements.
