Tender Overview

GE00470 - Cairns Seaport - Supply and Installation of Anodes - 2022

The Cairns Seaport marine infrastructure has numerous steel components in contact with the salt water environment of the Trinity Inlet and Fitzroy Island. A large portion of these steel components are protected by sacrificial anodes.

The intent of this contract is to replace sacrificial anodes where necessary to ensure that all structural steel is adequately protected from corrosion. The scope incudes the supply of approximately 80 sacraficial anodes of different sizes installed on approximately 60 piles in different locations.

The Contractor will be responsible for the supply and installation of anodes as outlined in this document.

The contract will be broken into the following phases:

  • Phase 1: Order and supply the anodes for the works.
  • Phase 2: Replace existing anodes as specified in the scope of works.
  • Phase 3: Check the continuity of electrical bond cables between steel elements.
  • Phase 4: Undertake field testing to ensure that the steel components are protected.

The work to be performed under this Contract comprises the provision of all materials, plant and labour and the performance of all operations of whatever kind necessary for the complete and proper execution of the Works as described in this Tender Document. The Contractor is expected to be competent and experienced in the type of works included in this Contract and shown on the drawings.
