Tender Overview

The Queensland Government is undertaking an EOI to appoint a non-for-profit peak body for Youth Justice (YJ) to inform policy development in the YJ sector, providing advice to government that strengthens community safety, focuses on improving intervention and prevention responses, and develops strategies to reduce the over-representation of First Nations young people in the YJ system. 

The Expression of Interest is to identify a suitable organisation to deliver innovative work in partnership with, and on behalf of, the YJ system.

The peak body for YJ will contribute in a constructive way to the public conversation about youth justice.

The objective of the EOI is to ensure the YJ sector are developing informed and effective solutions that contribute to the quality of life and improved outcomes for YJ young people and their families and contribute to improved community safety.

EOI’s from organisations are invited to lodge a submission who:

  • Have the ability to operate across Queensland, including rural and remote communities.
  • Are an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or are prepared to form appropriate partnerships with First Nations communities, and other non-government organisations.
  • Have demonstrate experience and/or interest working with YJ sector.
  • Experience and/or ability to develop strategies and provide leadership to promote sector capability.
